Role overview

As a Product Business Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping our Product Owners and Development Teams meticulously define the intricate details of our market-leading FinTech products. Working across web and mobile applications used by both financial advisors and their clients, you’ll delve into the complexities of our system. Your primary objective will be to translate high-level product vision into actionable specifications, ensuring seamless integration, accurate data flows, and intuitive user experiences. You’ll be instrumental in sketching out the specifics of user stories, mapping detailed integration flows, defining data requirements, and untangling complex user journeys across our diverse product ecosystem, including internal tools and underlying platform functionalities.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Owners to refine user stories and define actionable requirements
  • Document integration flows, including API specs, data mapping, and system interactions
  • Analyse and document user journeys and workflows for optimal web and mobile experiences
  • Clarify requirements with Development Teams to ensure technical feasibility and accurate implementation
  • Ensure alignment with UX best practices by working with UX Designers
  • Define data requirements with Product Data Analysts and support data-driven decisions
  • Participate in discovery phases to identify analysis areas within new and existing functionalities
  • Support testing and quality assurance by clarifying requirements and validating features

This role requires strong collaborative engagement with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, including:

  • Product Owners: For defining and refining product requirements and vision
  • Development Teams: To ensure technical feasibility, clarify requirements, and support implementation
  • UX Designers: To align on user experience and interface design
  • Product Data Analysts: For data requirements, insights, and analytical support
  • End-Users: To gather feedback and understand user needs (through Product Owners or directly)
  • Internal Sales Team: To understand market needs and support product positioning
  • Internal Support Team: To gain insights into user issues and operational considerations

Business Analyst requirements:

  • Mid-level experience in defining complex requirements
  • Self-directed, managing workload and problem-solving
  • Exceptional attention to detail in documentation
  • Highly collaborative with diverse teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills for practical solutions
  • Proactive in seeking information and driving tasks
  • Passionate about FinTech products

Technical skills & tools:

  • Creating user stories, process flows, data maps, integration specs
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies
  • Experienced with Azure DevOps/Jira
  • Knowledgeable with Figma
  • Exposure to Pendo and Power BI
  • Proficient in Office 365
  • Leveraging AI tools; AI knowledge mandatory

Education & qualifications

  • A Bachelor\’s degree is preferred, ideally in a highly analytical and structured discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
  • Other relevant degree subjects demonstrating strong analytical and problem- solving capabilities will also be considered
  • Professional certifications in Business Analysis (e.g., BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis, or Practitioner certificates in Requirements Engineering, Business Analysis Practice, or Business Process Modelling – or similar) are highly desirable
