Last week: Week ending 20 February 2026
The Dynamic Planner Benchmarks delivered positive returns last week, ranging from 0.57% to 0.74%, driven by a clear rotation across regions and asset classes. European and UK assets contributed positively as investors rotated toward markets offering relative value and improved fiscal optics. The UK surprised with an approximate £30bn budget surplus, supporting domestic sentiment, while Europe’s resurgence in Industrials and Financials continued apace. UK Inflation-Linked Gilts were among the strongest contributors, supported by improving rate expectations and firmer fiscal sentiment, with government and corporate bonds also adding modestly. By contrast, Japanese equities detracted meaningfully, while North American equities were more subdued, reflecting a move away from previously favoured regions. Overall, the week reflected tactical repositioning across regions rather than a structural shift in global risk appetite.
