Salesforce Administrator

Location: Hybrid / Reading

Role Purpose

As the Salesforce Administrator, you will have the chance to get involved and lead on our exciting Salesforce development plans. You’ll be responsible for our Salesforce platform, supporting our growth both in the UK and internationally.

We are looking for a proactive individual who can help us continually improve and enhance our Salesforce platform, designing scalable best practice solutions, and managing the company’s Salesforce environment.

The ideal candidate will be happy liaising with stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to translate technical information into simple terms, clearly explaining system options and their potential impact. They will be able to always see the bigger picture and able to implement agreed solutions in a timely manner.

Key deliverables

  • Serve as the primary system administrator for Salesforce, being the first contact for stakeholders to turn to for questions or system Change Requests
  • Consult with key stakeholders regarding the system functionality and usability to enhance user experience
  • Critically identify opportunities for improvements within Salesforce as well as understanding any issues. Analyse the root causes for any issues then select and develop appropriate solution options. Create and manage the implementation plans and processes, ensuring solutions are thoroughly supported with comprehensive testing plans.
  • Design, build and manage reports and dashboards to meet stakeholder MI needs
  • Maintain data integrity – especially the quality of client and prospect records but also key reference data, including price and product books, contract terms etc.
  • Create and manage page layouts, types and fields
  • Write validation rules and formulas in Salesforce to ensure data quality is maintained
  • Create and own automated processes using Process Builder and Workflows
  • Complete bulk uploads of data into the CRM
  • Complete regular internal system audits, ensuring processes are being followed by all stakeholders and information is being inputted correctly into the CRM
  • Own all integrations between Salesforce and other systems (e.g. finance system, marketing automation system and Dynamic Planner).
  • Ensure these are running smoothly, including ensuring mappings between systems are correctly defined and maintained
  • Work with third parties to ensure Salesforce is configured to company needs
  • Manage licences – ensuring necessary stakeholders have the correct roles, profiles and permission sets to perform their duties
  • Assist in training of new users, and grow the Salesforce.com skillset across the organisation

Competencies (knowledge/skills/experience)

Knowledge

  • Have a passion for Salesforce and a positive attitude, understanding all the functionalities of the CRM, including bulk uploading, object types and custom objects
  • Fully understand data flows to and from the CRM system to other platforms used
  • Be comfortable writing validation rules and field/report formulas
  • Strong knowledge of reporting and building dashboards within Salesforce
  • Sound knowledge of API services to ensure data exchanges work correctly
  • Must be comfortable using Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel

  • A master at building strong relationships with key stakeholders and teams to provide both consultancy and training on Salesforce
  • Enhanced problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail and data handling skills
  • Ability to think critically and independently
  • Must be a self-motivated individual with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements and able to see the bigger picture
  • Time management and a capability of juggling multiple tasks at once

 

Experience

  • Strong Salesforce Administration experience with a good knowledge of the benefits and capabilities of the platform
  • Experience of stakeholder management across all leadership levels
  • Experience in implementing and monitoring integrations between salesforce and other systems e.g. marketing automation tools and finance systems to ensure data exchanges work correctly
  • Experience with marketing automation tools
  • Experience working with Salesforce ISV solutions is a plus
  • Experience of the financial services industry would be advantageous

Education & Qualifications

  • Previous track record of Salesforce Administration with 2-3 years of experience
  • Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator
